West Creek Veterans Basin Improvements Project

Regional stormwater management program project will help address flooding in Parma neighborhood

The West Creek Veterans Basin Improvements Project will decrease flooding to the neighborhood downstream of Veterans Park by converting the current basin to an expanded dry detention basin. This expanded dry detention basin will increase stormwater storage in the project area during rain events. Additional project goals include water quality improvements, local stormwater conveyance improvements, and improvements to Veterans Park amenities in the project area.

April 2024 update: Final project design is near completion, construction expected to begin late fall 2024

We will present a project update to Parma City Council June 17, 2024.

November 2023 update: Join us for our project open house events Thursday, November 30 (Mid-day 11:00-1:00, and evening 5:00-7:00)

Our project team will be at Watershed Stewardship Center with project displays November 30 to provide updates on two stormwater basin projects that will help address flooding issues in Parma: Baldwin Creek Watershed (Dell Haven Basin) and West Creek Watershed (Veterans Memorial Park Basin). No RSVP is required.
