The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) is ready to begin the Walworth Run Interceptor Relocation (WRIR) project and will require closure of several roads in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland. Construction will begin the week of Nov. 1 and will continue for eight months.
During construction, the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic:
- Abbey Avenue between West 12th Street and West 13th Street
- West 11th Street between University Road and Abbey Avenue
In addition, West 14th Street, just south of Fairfield Avenue, will be reduced to one lane of southbound traffic until May 18, 2011. | Map of road closures
This project includes construction of a new sewer (1,209 feet long, 60-inch diameter) that will replace an existing interceptor sewer; the original sewer is impeding the construction of ODOT’s new Innerbelt Bridge and will be abandoned prior to the bridge’s construction.
Entrances to Sokolowski’s University Inn on University Road and Abbey Avenue will remain accessible throughout the construction project; a third parking lot entrance will be constructed on West 13th Street.
RTA’s Bus Route #81 will be impacted during construction. For details, please contact the RTAnswerline at 216.621.9500 or visit www.RideRTA.com for construction reroute information.
Representatives from NEORSD will be available to present WRIR project details and answer any questions at a public meeting at Sokolowski’s University Inn, 1201 University Road, on Oct. 27 at 6 p.m.
